Below are some general guidelines and expectations, but FYI I'm looking to do a pretty specific type of role play, and I exclusively role play over email.

Guys, I love some good ol' romance. Not too fast - I'd prefer more of a "slow burn" feel, but not TOO slow, you feel me? I just adore when two characters, both multi-faceted people, have wonderful chemistry and witty banter and strike up a lovely romance. And I also love throwing things at them to keep things interesting. >D I wouldn't say I like "dark" role plays, but I do like drama and conflict.

Only thing about romance is that I will not do smut. Once things get steamy between our characters (ie starting to move past kissing and such~), I require that we fade to black.

Please have some common sense and follow all the normal RP rules - no godmodding, etc. etc. I'm not requiring anyone to be English majors, but I'll warn you that I will SWIFTLY lose interest in a role play I can barely decipher. I'm not super picky about post length, but please add some detail to make your writing rich and interesting. My responses are generally 2-4 paragraphs, sometimes more depending on the situation.

I do not rp the following: fandoms, futuristic/fantasy/scifi/apocalyptic settings, incest, underage romance.

Quick blurb about character sheets: I'm flexible. I'm down to just do a picture (though I prefer real face claims) with basic info, a complete history and personality profile, a Pinterest board (that's a new one that I actually really enjoy o: ), or any combination of any of that. Or, we could do no picture or anything. I'm flexible! Just let me know what you'd prefer! The only think I really don't like is anime or cartoon face claims.

I'd prefer if my partners were over 18 and if our characters are in their 20s (I will make some exceptions, but I don't want our main characters to be younger than 18).

I greatly favor character development and relationships over world-building. Please please please give me interesting, deep, multi-faceted characters to work with! Give me witty banter! Give me chemistry! These things don't have to come immediately, of course. All of this being said, I value plotting and want to put in the effort to craft an interesting, believable story; I just don't want to spend more than a day or so figuring things out.

I gotta be real. I will never protest to playing the male to my partner's princess (or other type of female). However, I have seen FAR too many clones of the same old cliches, and they have become borderline intolerable. I'd love to see a princess (or, again, any other female character) who is neither an air-headed limp noodle nor a secret combat master. I'm all about flawed and badass females, but there are a million ways to play them out without falling prey to the same old tired cliches. /endrant

Okay! Onto the plot idea! I'd really like to play the male in this scenario, tbh, and I'd love to throw in some action and adventure in addition to the ~fluff~.

A hard-working family lives in a small, outlying village of the country. They're farmers, and they've had problems with bandits stealing their crops, destroying their lands, and even killing one of the teenage boys who worked the fields. One day, they stumble upon a wounded knight. They take him in and nurse him back to health, asking him to help fend off the bandits in exchange. He stays for a while, happy to help but intending to make his way back to the city eventually. Over time, however, he begins to grow attached to the family - especially their eldest daughter.

Here are some plot candies that I fantasize about:
- a strong, intelligent female character to play against my knight
- my knight teaches the kids and/or community and/or your character how to fight/defend themselves
- my knight learns farm work and helps out <3
- conflict and/or jealousy from others as our characters' relationship blossoms
- some action, a touch of drama, and a hearty scoop of fluff <3

Yeah, so, there it is. It's pretty simple, because I wanted to leave it open to whatever twists and turns we decide to throw in there. If this doesn't interest you, but you think we might be compatible, I've got some other ideas! However, I'm only looking to do medieval role plays right now. I also prefer to play males - knights, soldiers, guards, rangers, etc. Shoot me a PM if you want to get something started! c:

Hi there, hoping the title has drawn in all you sappy romantics. >:D

Guys, I'm just really craving some romance. As stated above, I only do mxf pairings. I really love playing either role! Sometimes I have a preference (tbh I usually prefer playing male), but I'm usually flexible with it.

Only thing about romance is that I will not do smut. Once things get steamy between our characters (ie starting to move past kissing and such~), I require that we fade to black.

Okay! Now onto a few little ideas I have. I'm certainly not limited to these, but these are what I have in my brain right now.

It's Not Over
  modern ~ ex x ex
Our characters were in love, but they had to break it off. Years later, they meet again, and their lives have changed; perhaps one or both of them have moved on. However, the more time they spend together, the more they realize there are still strong feelings there. A few different scenarios:
- The male joins the military. Either he breaks up with her before she leaves, or (preferably) she sends him a "Dear John" letter while he's gone.
- One of them gets a job out of town. They try to make a long distance relationship work for awhile, but she tries to get him to move back with her. He refuses, putting his own career in front of their relationship. After flying in for a visit, she tries to convince him one last time and eventually breaks up with him. Unbeknownst to her, he follows her to the airport to stop her and reconcile, only to watch her board the plane from a distance.
- He's afraid of commitment, and it's putting a strain on their relationship as they decide whether or not to get married. Tensions rise, and amidst miscommunication and false rumors, they split up. (One possibility is that I play a male musician. He gets a new backup vocalist who tries to throw herself at him, and when your character walks in on them at the wrong time, that's the last straw.)

I Never Stopped
medieval ~ ex x ex (I'M SLIGHTLY OBSESSED OK)
Same premise as above, but the situation would be a little different.
- So this one's a bit "Robin Hood/Princess Bride"-esque. A new regime has taken over, and there are many who remain loyal to the old King. These men form a rebellion, which culminates in a massive battle, which the rebellion loses. Any rebels who are not killed are executed for treason. However, MC (a former knight/soldier) is wounded and taken from the battle along with a small group of others, to preserve the rebel forces. They're kept in secret somewhere far away, to recover and reformulate in preparation for another attack. Before the start of the rebellion, MC and YC (who could be anyone, really, but I think it might be more exciting if she were a noblewoman rather than a commoner) were in a relationship (perhaps even married), but she doesn't hear from him after the battle - until they unexpectedly cross paths years later. I have several ideas for this, and it would be extra ~dramatic~ if one or both of them was betrothed/seeing someone at the time they reunite. So it would be a bit awk and probably angsty at first, but they'd still have this powerful chemistry and deep love for one another that overpowers whatever puny affections they might have had for their new significant others.
- Other ideas? Call me trash if you want but these things are my guilty pleasure. x3 Any of these can be altered, of course. If you're dying to do this and want to play a male, we can tweak it and I can bring in my female character.

Through Time and Space (not overly interested at the moment, tbh)
time travel ~ inspired by Outlander
Aight, this is one of VERY few times that I will be okay with fantasy. And this is what I would call "low" fantasy; time travel is not a normal thing in this world. It's sort of a fluke.
- So, YC is a woman from modern times (or perhaps a historical time period) who accidentally travels back to medieval times, probably via a weird fortune teller she meets at a renaissance festival or something. She comes across my character, they go on adventures and such, and eventually, she tells him that she's from the future. We'll have to work out all the details. Bonus points if there's a love triangle - some modern dude who figures out what happened and time travels to search for her.
- Or we could do the reverse: a medieval knight gets transported to the modern world. Lots of details to discuss, but I have some vague ideas for it. Aaaaaand I'd kinda like to play the knight, lolz, I have a thing for playing knights.

It's Him or Me, the World Will Never Be the Same (meh, not overly in the mood for this, but I'll still do it)
modern or medieval ~ arranged marriage?
- She's betrothed, destined to marry the handsome and charming [nobleman/prince/?]. At first, things go well between them, and he is all too eager to court her. Meanwhile, she's at odds with her personal guard (maybe an ex???? :DDDDD), a man with whom she's constantly butting heads. But as time goes on, things begin to change. Her betrothed is revealing, little by little, that he's not the man he claims to be, and her relationship with her guard takes a turn. (I'll be honest here. This is inspired by Frozen. Hans would be the guy she's betrothed to, and Kristoff would be the guy she ends up falling in love with. We can change up whatever we need to. She can be royal or noble; her actual love interest can be something other than a guard; etc. I just got inspired by the general concept as I was watching Frozen for the second time in one day. :S Don't judge.)

Good Deeds Returned
A hard-working family lives in a small, outlying village of the country. They're farmers, and they've had problems with bandits stealing their crops, destroying their lands, and even killing one of the teenage boys who worked the fields. One day, they stumble upon a wounded knight. They take him in and nurse him back to health, asking him to help fend off the bandits in exchange. He stays for a while, happy to help but intending to make his way back to the city eventually. Over time, however, he begins to grow attached to the family, especially their eldest daughter.

Emma
Okay, I just watched Emma for the first time, and now I want to attempt something Jane Austen-y (I'm a fan, as you might have guessed from the title of this thread). It would be fun to throw in different characters and have them all intermingle while our two characters fall in love without even knowing it. <3 I've never done a Regency era role play, but I'd like to try it out for this. However, I would also be fine with exploring this concept in other periods. I'm open to playing either gender.

Playing It Cool/Before We Go
I've been on a Netflix romance movie kick lately. I saw Before We Go some time ago (my heart will never be the same), and I just watched Playing It Cool. I'm not looking to copy these plotlines, but I AM interested in exploring the budding relationship between two strangers who hit it off extraordinarily well. They keep running into each other (perhaps they also seek each other out), but it doesn't seem to be in the cards for them to be together. I want SPARKS, I want ANGST, I want CONFLICT, I want crazy head-over-heels love. This could be a short-term rp, or this could possibly morph into an ex x ex situation. I have no gender preference; I'd be happy to play either.

Okay, I can't think of anything else, tbh. But I'm open to ideas!
I rp over PM and email. I can do Discord if you ask nicely and persuade me.
Please PM me rather than comment here!
