barbermonger: a one on one roleplay search forum

WELCOME TO BARBERMONGER
WHAT IS BARBERMONGER?

BARBERMONGER is a site designed to help roleplayers find other roleplayers, specifically one-on-one roleplayers, as opposed to larger roleplay games. Functioning like a pinboard, BARBERMONGER allows users to create advertisements, bump advertisements, and respond to other advertisements, without requiring them to register an account. However, registering an account will allow you to edit your posts, find your own topics, and use the private messaging system.

hail, barberbutts!
to those about to draw -- i salute you!

as tentatively described in this thread:

each day, there will be a cool new prompt for you to draw. each day, POST IT HERE. that's it, that's all! any medium, any skill level, any interpretation (or lack thereof) of the prompt subject matter is welcome. your mission: get better at art, draw goofy things, and have fun doodling with your friends.

successful completion of the challenge will net you: bragging rights, the envy and respect of your friends and enemies, and better art skills.

admin edit: completionists will also earn a 25x25 pixel award, to be determined!

ready? let's go!

DAY 1: SEA CREATURES

user posted image

bring me your weird fish, your gross eels, your coral reefs, your yawning abysses; your tentacled masses groping for the light! for this prompt, draw what lives in the sea, or what could live in the sea. (i guess aquaman counts. i guess.)

more of a land-lubber? want to do something a bit more technical and hone your skills? as an alternative, give the exercises from draw a box's lesson 2 a try!

I didn't take as much time and effort on this and it's done on receipt paper, but I still wanted to contribute!

Everyone else's drawings so far are fantastic.

So... this has 5 different versions, and then I cropped more than half of the image cause I got mad at everything. And now we're here. My bladder is about to burst.

Alaska is making me put up the full thing, so here's the whole stupid thing with it's stupid awkward composition.

DAY 2: ARCHITECTURE

user posted image

today is about drawing interesting buildings, new and old! go outside and draw that/those cool building(s) near your house or downtown or on campus or design your own.

if you hate buildings and, like me, would prefer to live in a cave with wi-fi, draw a little something from THE LAST PLACE YOU TRAVELLED TO.
